MEDICAL SIMULATION AND SURGICAL SIMULATION

Simbionix has successfully launched a complete line of medical simulators, which provide medical professionals with hands-on training in a comprehensive array of Minimally Invasive Surgery procedures; the URO Mentor™ - the industry’s only simulator for endourology procedures, the PERC Mentor™ for percutaneous access procedures, the LAP Mentor™ - a multi disciplinary simulator for laparoscopic skills and surgery procedures, and the ANGIO Mentor™, a multidisciplinary simulator that provides hands-on practice in an extensive and complete simulated environment of interventional endovascular procedures.

ENDOSCOPIC SIMULATORS

The company’s flagship endoscopic simulator is the GI Mentor, which trains physicians in a wide variety of upper and lower GI procedures including flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, gastroscopy, ERCP, emergency bleeding situations and the latest add-on module, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS).

Work on the endoscopic simulator provides a true-to-life sensation of performing real endoscopic procedures using authentic scopes customized by Simbionix along with a variety of simulated tools and accessories.

A large library of virtual patients provides an extensive selection of procedures ranging from relatively easy to complicated and rare cases. Hand-eye coordination is developed through practice on the simulator's Cyberscopy exercises.

SIMULATOR FOR ENDOUROLOGY PROCEDURES

The Simbionix URO Mentor is a simulator for diagnostic and therapeutic endourology procedures. The URO Mentor provides a unique opportunity to work with a variety of scopes, tools and visual images on a true-to-life system that provides a look and feel so close to reality that at times it may be hard to distinguish the difference.

The simulator’s basic tasks module provides opportunities to study the urinary collecting system anatomy and identification of urological landmarks. Virtual patient cases enable performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including stones and strictures treatments.

The PERC Mentor simulator trains radiologists and urologists in percutaneous renal access done under fluoroscopic control. This simulator is designed as an add-on feature of the URO Mentor.

LAPAROSCOPIC SIMULATION

The LAP Mentor is a multidisciplinary laparoscopic simulator that enables hands-on practice of complete laparoscopic procedures for one trainee or an entire team.

The LAP Mentor laparoscopic simulator combines realistic visualization of the human anatomy and anatomy behavior with a high-end technological haptic system that provides realistic sensations mimicing the look and feel of an actual surgical procedure.

The laparoscopic simulator provides a laparoscopic training curriculum made up of basic skills, tutorial procedural tasks, and simulation of full procedures. The basic skills module enables acquisition of a basic level of skills that are relevant for all fields of laparoscopic surgery. The procedural tasks module provides instruction on how to carry out a safe procedure, while the virtual patients module enables practice on complete virtual cholecystectomy procedures including cholangiograms.

CARDIOVASCULAR SIMULATION

Simbionix's ANGIO Mentor is a multidisciplinary simulator that provides hands-on practice in an extensive and complete simulated environment of interventional endovascular procedures.

Interventional cardiologists, interventional radiologists and vascular surgeons can use it to perform complete procedures, as well as practice drug patient vital signs management.

Users are able to practice full simulation of the fluoroscopic procedure including the manipulation of the devices (guidewires, catheters, balloons, distal protection device, etc.) into the arterial system, manipulation of the C-arm for various patient positions and projections and in the same time, practice administration of drugs and patient monitoring.
