Radiomatix, a radiology service provider linked to the Belgian Radiology Group (BRG), chooses DOBCO Medical Systems as its partner to implement teleradiology. DOBCO Medical Systems implements the connectivity between hospitals worldwide and the central Radiomatix PACS.
Through teleradiology, hospitals and their patients can obtain high-quality readings at any given time. Radiomatix organises readings by BRG experts in all fields of radiology. The readings can be divided into three types: primary readings, secondary readings and over-readings for the training of juniors.
To accomplish the transfer of data, Radiomatix relies on DOBCO Medical Systems. DOBCO Medical Systems implements a central solution that accepts new data, verifies it and stores it into the Radiomatix PACS system. Besides the image handling it also updates the central RIS system. At each remote site DOBCO Medical Systems installs a router configuration that accepts new studies, acquires prior studies based on a related procedure matrix, manages the secure transfer of the data and handles the privacy, depending on local regulations. DOBCO Medical System manages this implementation from A to Z.
Dr. Gryspeerdt, chief medical officer of Radiomatix, says of DOBCO Medical Systems: "Thanks to DOBCOMED we are now able to connect any hospital and any modality within one day. The installation is not only flexible but moreover extremely cost-effective: the whole configuration is performed remotely, without the need of intervention of the local IT department or the need to travel."
The first installations in Russia and Kuwait are already up and running.
