Market demand for medical appliances in China is still growing. Statistics show that China’s medical appliances market is in its high-speed growth stage as a result of sustained development of Chinese economy, and medical appliances sales volume in the Chinese market has maintained an annual growth rate of 14%, with the market capacity increasing from US$5.42 billion in 2000 to US$9.16 billion in 2004. 2004 witnessed an annual growth rate of 40% in new medical appliance product registration as well as an annual increase of 22.98% in China’s import of medical appliances to a total import volume of US$3.283 billion.

OPENING THE MEDICAL CONSUMABLES ZONE

CHINA MED 2007 will continue to open the medical consumables zone to meet the increasing demand of overseas buyers and distributors for consumables. Meanwhile, the presence of heath IT technology and application, services and facilities for disabled persons and homecare products will be emphasised. In parallel with the trade fair, technical seminars entitled “Selection of Interventional Appliances in Diagnosis and Treatment of Circulatory System Diseases”, “Overall Quality Management for Procurement and Use of Medical Consumables”, and “Impact of the Spinal Implant Development upon Spinal Surgery” will also be held.
