Dubai International Acquires Alliance Medical

Alliance Medical Group has been purchased by Dubai International Capital from Bridgepoint for 860 million Euro. Since 2001, Bridgepoint owned the Alliance Medical Group that expanded into Continental Europe through 16 acquisitions, most notably in Ireland, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain. Our revenues have increased sixfold and employee numbers have risen from 177 to 690. For the year ended 31 March 2007 Alliance Medical had by means of scanners and diagnostic centers revenues of 190 million Euro.

Founded in 1989 and based in Warwickshire, Alliance Medical is the largest service provider in the field of mobile and fixed diagnostic imaging (including MRI, CT and PET) and operates more than 190 scanners.

It is the first acquisition in the healthcare sector for Dubai International Capital that is an investor in DaimlerChrysler. Travelodge, Doncasters Group (precision engineering components), Mauser AG and the Merlin Group (the biggest visitor attraction operator after Disney). DIC also is a substantial investor in the Middle-East and Northern Africa.

In pursue of a period of strong growth Alliance Medical will use this opportunity to enter new markets in Europe, the Gulf area and Asia. Robert Waley-Cohen, founder of Alliance Medical, will remain on the Board as an independant director and deputy chairman.
