PICTURE PERFECT SURGICAL IMAGING
Visible light images are vital building blocks in helping clinicians develop a clear picture of every patient and Sony's BZMD-1 DICOM capture station has been designed to support the simultaneous acquisition of still and moving material from any surgical camera source and integrate these with DICOM file-based workflow.
Once captured, images and video clips can be displayed as a series of thumbnail icons for basic management and can be accessed easily through the network by operating surgeons, consultants or radiologists on Sony's award-winning HD and high-brightness LMD monitors.
Offering unparallel image clarity and colour accuracy, the class-leading Sony LMD-2450MD monitor is the first 24 inch HD 1080P model in Sony's healthcare range. Fully compliant with medical safety regulations, the monitor's versatile design can accept a wide range of SD, HD and PC signals and has the ability to display images from a variety of medical equipment sources. It is ideal for critical endoscopic applications and the screen's advanced image technology enables clinicians to see still and moving images with accuracy, HD clarity and pinpoint precision. Presently during live surgery, there are often multiple monitors within an operating theatre, and to ensure colour consistency across all of these screens, the Sony LMD-2450 utilises advanced Sony ChromaTRUTM colour processing technology.
Sony's PCS-HG90 HD visual communications system, enables true high definition, two-way communication in real-time between up to four sites. With true colour reproduction and razor-sharp detail, the PCS-HG90 allows surgeons to view operating room procedures from remote locations, consult with colleagues or conduct virtual lectures and training seminars.
HD IN SURGERY AND POST-OPERATION ANALYSIS
Sony has strengthened the world's first full 1440x1080 high definition medical recorder with the launch of the PDW-75MD, which features dual layer professional disc technology to enable healthcare professionals to realise more than double the recording time from a single layer disc. In addition to capturing more content on each disc, the new clip continuous REC function accelerates the process of accessing information by empowering users to tag critical scenes with 'essence markers' throughout a larger single recording and even without a PC, these can be reviewed and edited on the unit. Any recording on the PDW-75MD Professional Disc can be accessed instantly through thumbnail indexes displayed on the unit's 16:9 LCD colour screen, meaning valuable time saved from fast forwarding and rewinding content.
With digitized rather than tape-based content, workflow is instantly improved and operational efficiency increased. Accompanying the PDW-75MD is the simple and portable Sony PDW-U1 disk drive and the Vegas 8 editing software, together bringing a full HD recording, storage and editing solution.
"We have drawn on our HD heritage in the broadcast industry to bring unprecedented HD workflow, which is tried, tested and market leading to healthcare professionals in Europe," concluded Sony's Ludgar Philippsen.
