Healthcare veteran Peter A McClennen appointed President, North America - bringing proven track record in growth and executive leadership
dbMotion, a premier provider of health care information integration software that facilitates interoperability and health information exchange (HIE), today announced the appointment of Peter A. McClennen as president, North America. In this role, McClennen will oversee the company's North American business and drive its continued growth.
McClennen spent the past three years as the president and chief operating officer for AMICAS, a leader in image and information technology. Prior to that, he was an executive at GE Healthcare serving as the global general manager of the imaging informatics worldwide business unit and its general manager of global marketing.
During his tenure at GE his division grew significantly while the company achieved top market leadership positions worldwide. Before entering the vendor space, McClennen spent nine years in healthcare management at hospitals and ambulatory facilities, where he was responsible for leading clinical operations, information technology and business development.
“We have experienced substantial growth since launching our North American business in 2005,” said Yuval Ofek, dbMotion’s CEO. “We are confident that Peter's leadership, experience and knowledge of the healthcare market will further accelerate this growth, and we are excited to have him on board.” The dbMotion™ Solution is a service oriented architecture (SOA) based technology for healthcare information integration. It creates an integrated patient record composed of a patient’s medical data maintained at facilities that otherwise have no common technology through which to share data. This is accomplished without the replacement of existing information systems. “Having worked in the hospital, ambulatory and vendor sides of healthcare, I’ve seen the interoperability challenges that are being faced by care providers on all fronts,” said McClennen. “I believe that dbMotion provides a real solution to these challenges, especially as it relates to making interoperability and HIE mainstream in healthcare.”
