Smart Medical to Move to Cordovilla

Since its creation in 2002, Smart Medical has been undergoing steady growth. The development and production of urodynamics and gastrointestinal diagnostic systems - which are performed by the group's daughter company Albyn Medical - has now outgrown the current facilities in Cornellà de Llobregat, Barcelona.
The Smart Medical Group has entered into a financing agreement with Sodena, (Sociedad de Desarrollo de Navarra - the governmental Venture Capital Group of Navarra) and ENISA (Empresa Nacional de Innovación) to finance the next stage of its R&D plan as well as its continued geographic expansion.
As of the end of November 2006, Smart Medical Group will move all of its activities to its new headquarters in Cordovilla, (near Pamplona) in the region of Navarra. The new building will host extended R&D and production facilities, as well as our warehousing and all administrative support. Thanks to the new facilities, the group can now extend its research and development activities and take direct control over its logistics processes, according to Luis Collantes - technical director of the group. Hubert Thomassen, managing director of the group, adds, "Thanks to this new building we are now creating better facilities to support our growing international distributor network. Due to the ongoing introduction of new products, we need to spend more time on training our world-wide sales partners. We are now proud to be able to do this in a suitable environment".
