Dometic Receives Major Order from Ethiopia Amounting to US$ 3.2 Million

The Dometic subsidiary, Sibir International AB, has received a major order from the Ethiopian Ministry of Health comprising of more than 2000 vaccine refrigerators. The order amounts to US$ 3.2 million, and will be financed by the World Bank.

It is the Dometic subsidiary, Sibir International AB, which has received the order totaling 2,108 vaccine storage refrigerators; 1,520 refrigerators of model V110KE and 588 refrigerators of model V170KE.
The World Bank and its International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and International Development Association (IDA) will finance the project. The refrigerators are being shipped from Dometic's factory in Motala, Sweden, within the next few days and delivery in Addis Ababa is expected during September.
The vaccine refrigerators run on kerosene and may, within a continuous cold chain, store vaccines in areas with unreliable electricity. The refrigerators will be delivered to health centers in the Ethiopian countryside, and are an important part of the 'Protection of Basic Services project, an initiative led by the World Bank to fight HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases in Ethiopia.
Since the begining of the 1980's Dometic and Sibir have been an important partner to many aid organizations such as the Red Cross, MSF and, above all, UNICEF's Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), a vaccine program that since its inception is estimated to have saved more than 20 million lives. Dometic is also the leading supplier of coolboxes for transporting vaccines, and has delivered more than 200,000 boxes to different projects in developing countries.
Dometic also offers a number of other products, where Dometic is the market leader on each respective market. Among other things, Dometic offers special products for the RV (recreation vehicle) and marine industries, miniBars to hotels, and vibration-free wine cellars.
