BED SENSOR PRODUCTS

Emfit is a global leader in quasi-piezoelectric sensors. Since 1990, Emfit has pioneered the development and manufacture of patented ferro-electret sensors. Today Emfit is the world's leading manufacturer of these dynamic thin-film sensors for various applications. Experience is built into every product developed and produced by Emfit. The company holds several patents granted and applied for its sensor technologies.

Emfit’s bed sensor products are placed under the mattress in bed, without any direct electrical or mechanical contact with the patient. This makes them both safe and extremely easy to use; no electrodes or wires are connected to the patient.

BED-EXIT ALARMS FOR FALL DETECTION

Emfit manufactures bed-exit alarms and presence / absence alarms for monitoring whether a patient is in their bed or not, and when they leave the bed. Alarms such as these allow a greater level of patient care and they are useful for fall detection.

The alarm unit provides adjustable bed-exit delay, audible alarm with volume control and an isolated relay output for easy connection to existing nurse call systems. A model with integrated GSM cellular phone is also available, for sending the alarm to a telephone.

The latest model in Emfit’s product range incorporates a standard Ethernet port, for sending bed monitor data via TCP/IP over any LAN, WLAN, or even the Internet.

EPILEPSY ALARM

Epileptic seizure alarm units provide the same audible, telephone and nurse call alarms as the basic bed-exit alarm units. Emfit’s epileptic seizure alarms are able to detect activity and movement changes caused by tonic-clonic seizures, clonic phases with jerking and bed exit.

ACTIVITY, RESPIRATION AND HEART-RATE MONITORING

Emfit’s product line includes monitors for direct observation of general activity, respiration, heart rate, and ballistocardiogram (BCG), via TCP/IP over the network – either as pre-calculated easily readable values, or as raw measurement data that can be implemented in and used as part of customers’ own monitoring applications.

Emfit offers both basic viewer / monitor software for monitoring single or multiple beds, and detailed ‘how-to’ documentation of the interface for integrating the data stream into customer’s own applications.

UNDER-MATTRESS BED SENSORS FOR PSG

Emfit offers differential bipolar and single-ended unipolar under-mattress bed sensors for direct connection to other manufacturers’ PSG and EEG amplifiers / systems. Emfit’s bed sensor is compatible with most PSG/EEG equipment.

Bed sensors can be used, for example, for recording general activity / movements, respiration movements, ballistocardiogram (BCG) and leg movements.
