The Trionic Walker is a new and groundbreaking rollator for the active user. It offers increased access to any outdoor environment and enables the user to be physically active at a higher degree. The Walker outshines the competition in the city, on the hiking trail, the golf course, in the park and around the summer house.

Through its unique design it promotes activity and quality of life. Made for walking, the Walker is designed with a great focus on walking. A patented climbing wheel, three-wheel design and air-filled tires work in unison for a totally new walking experience. It climbs curbs and other obstacles with ease and turns cobbles, gravel, grass, snow and off-road trails into pure pleasure instead of a bumpy and unpleasant venture.

The Trionic concept has been awarded as winner of the Swedish design award "Aluminium Design 2004'.

CLIMBING WHEEL

Overcoming curbs, thresholds and other obstacles is verified as being one of the major problem areas when using a traditional rollator. When climbing a curb, the rollator has to be lifted and thus it looses its main function as a means of support.

Trionic Walker is equipped with the Trionic Climbing Wheel. The wheel has a unique feature, the capacity to climb a 13 cm high curb. When climbing a curb as low as 3 cm, the amount of force needed is only 1/8 of the force that a single wheel of an equal diameter requires.

By spreading the load over two wheels, slightly displaced lengthwise, the climbing sequence is divided into two steps. The climbing capacity is furthermore enhanced through an angled link arm that uses the pushing force provided by the user. Suspension Uneven surfaces, such as a gravel road or cobbled street, also cause problems when using a traditional walking aid.

To avoid the above problem, the Trionic Climbing Wheel also provides suspension. On uneven ground the link arm of the wheel constantly pivots, thus suspending the ride.

THREE-WHEEL DESIGN

The Walker’s three-wheel design results in permanent ground contact. The 'shopping cart-syndrome' (any device or vehicle with four points of support starts to tip when put on an uneven surface), with rising and spinning wheels, is effectively avoided. The advantages are obvious on any uneven ground.

The Walker can be adapted through exchangeable details. Seat and storage space are offered as accessories in a range of colours and textile patterns, which easily can be changed and updated according to individual preferences. This enables different fashion statements.

The seat can also be slid forward creating more walking space with a more upright body position as a result.

PROMOTING HEALTH

That physical activity promotes health and increases quality of life is a common fact.

Extensive user tests have proven that the Walker is beneficial when compared to a traditional rollator, especially when overcoming obstacles and when used outdoors. It receives a higher rating in all outdoor environments, and seven out of nine test users would rather use the Walker than their current walking aid.
