Megadyne Medical Products was founded in 1985 with the launch of the E-Z Clean® line of non-stick, eschar-resistant, PTFE-coated electrodes.

Today, Megadyne continues to bring to market innovative products, as a full-line manufacturer of electrosurgical products. Our full product line includes generators, reusable and disposable pencils, active electrodes, laparoscopic electrodes, return electrodes, bipolar electrodes and much more.

E-Z CLEAN® NON-STICK ELECTRODES

Save time and minimize cleaning disruptions during electrosurgery with E-Z Clean non-stick electrode tips. Compared to stainless steel tips that require stopping and starting during procedures to repeatedly scrape and clean off the eschar build-up, Megadyne’s non-stick E-Z Clean green tips resist eschar build-up meaning fewer interruptions during procedures. When cleaning is needed, only a wipe from a damp sponge is required.

CONSISTENT ELECTROSURGICAL GENERATOR PERFORMANCE REGARDLESS OF TISSUE TYPE

The Mega Power electrosurgical generator provides the power to perform consistently and flawlessly regardless of tissue type, using advanced features such as Constant Control Technology™, Advanced Cutting Effect (ACE) mode, built-in bipolar current monitor and bipolar audible tone.

The Constant Control Technology™ feature automatically monitors tissue impedance and adjusts power output to reduce tissue damage and drag. Mega Power’s proprietary Advanced Cutting Effect (ACE) mode is designed to provide a scalpel-like cutting effect for minimal thermal necrosis and reduced scarring.

The built-in bipolar current monitor provides a visual indication of current flow, while the bipolar audible tone provides an audible indication of current flow.

MEGA SOFT™ REUSABLE PATIENT RETURN ELECTRODE

The Mega Soft reusable patient return electrode is simply set on the operating room table, eliminating the small disposable sticky pad that can damage the patient’s skin.

The Mega Soft pad is large - extending at least half the length and full width of an adult patient's torso. The patient lies on the Mega Soft pad to achieve full and safe electrical patient contact. If the patient is in contact with only a small portion of the pad, safety still prevails because the Mega Soft is a self-contained current limiting device.

Mega Soft combines the innovative Mega Soft patient return electrode technology with an OR table pressure-reduction pad made with Akton® polymer. The Mega Soft can be used in a variety of surgical procedures and positions providing a safe, easy-to-use return electrode combined with an effective OR table pressure-reduction pad.

LAPAROSCOPIC ELECTRODES

Megadyne’s reusable Indicator Shaft® technology applies two layers of insulation to each laparoscopic electrode - a black outer layer with a yellow indication layer underneath. When the black outer layer is nicked or worn away due to standard usage and reprocessing, the yellow indication layer becomes visible (see image to the right) - alerting clinicians that it is time to discard and replace the electrode. Indicator Shaft technology minimizes the risk of a burn due to stray current as a result of damaged insulation on the laparoscopic electrode.

Megadyne has also applied their innovative PTFE technology to the disposable MEGAtip® electrodes. Each tip is coated with our exclusive E-Z Clean PTFE non-stick coating - reducing eschar build-up and making scraping and inconvenient delays a thing of the past. MEGAtip electrodes easily wipe clean with a sterile sponge. Reduced eschar build-up means a more consistent and cleaner cut at lower power settings with a lower risk of thermal necrosis.
