The National Programme for IT in the NHS: An Update on the Delivery of Detailed Care Records Systems
The comptroller and auditor general of the National Audit Office (NAO) in the UK has published an updated report on the state of the National Programme for IT in the National Health Service (NHS).
The report points out that the rate at which electronic care records systems are being put in place in the NHS does not meetexpectation, and the primary objective to have an electronic care record for every patient does not seem possible.
The NAO report concludes that the £2.7bn spent on electronic care records systems has not yielded the desired results.
