DuPont has developed a new brochure ("Corian® in Healthcare") illustrating performances and advantages of DuPont Corian® solid surfaces in healthcare applications.
Corian®, an advanced composite material, is inert, non-toxic and hypoallergenic, and provides aseptic and hygienic surfaces to create a comfortable atmosphere in healthcare environments.
Corian® is homogeneous, non-porous and can be joined with inconspicuous seams. It's easy to clean and maintain, prevents the growth of bacteria and micro-organisms and reduces the risks of hospital-acquired infections. It is then an ideal material for surgical benches, operating theatre handbasins and wall cladding, endoscopy cabinets, laboratory benchtops, work surfaces in infirmaries and clinics, reception desks, sinks, showers and other fixtures in patients' rooms and bathrooms or public washrooms, cafeteria counters, signage, and autopsy slabs. It can also bring improvements to neonatology departments, as well as endoscopy, nuclear medicine and maternity ward facilities.
Corian® can be thermoformed to any shape, size or dimension. All corners and joints can be rounded to ensure easy and complete cleaning. It is extremely durable and easily repaired or renewed on site. It can also be installed as wall cladding over a previously tiled surface.
