Technical White Paper: Monitoring and Tracking of Fluoroscopic Dose

11 January 2012

The white paper discusses deterministic injuries that can be caused by radiation from fluoroscopic procedures and describes that staff education and certian methods can reduce fluoroscopic dose.

The document has been developed by a working group of the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD) and approved by the Board of Directors for publication.

It states each facility should decide which method of dose tracking is best, upon consultation with a qualified medical physicist, and that all medical radiation doses should be tracked and considered to determine if an increased deterministic risk exists.
