The Public Health Agency (PHA) for Northern Ireland has issued a swine flu warning and has asked all pregnant women to be vaccinated for swine flu, regardless of the stage of their pregnancy.
The agency has made the announcement after three pregnant women in Northern Ireland were diagnosed with swine flu.
According to the PHA, 70% of the pregnant women have received the vaccine, but the numbers have significantly decreased over the summer months.
Assistant director of public health Lorraine Doherty said that pregnant women who did not get vaccinated last year are being offered a vaccine this year.
"It is particularly important that they take up this offer because pregnant women are more likely to have serious illness if they catch swine flu," Doherty added.
Twenty people in the Northern Ireland have died as a result of the illness.
