New Hampshire Hospitals Face Budget Cuts

9 June 2011

Hospitals in the US state of New Hampshire will lose more than $250m in Medicaid reimbursement, as well as funds generated through the state's hospital provider tax, due to new budget provisions.

The two-year budget allows the state to use $75.9m of Medicaid enhancement tax revenue to supplement state funds in 2012 and $81.9m of the tax in 2013, according to Beckers Hospital Review.

New Hampshire Hospital Association president Steve Ahnen said the group estimates that as a result of the cuts hospitals in the state will lose $126.9m this year and $131.7m next year.
