English Care Regulator Demands Improvements at Nursing Home

23 June 2011

The Care Quality Commission has told a nursing home in Somerset, UK, that it needs to improve its standards of care.

The health and social care regulator for England said that Ruishton Court Nursing Home in Henlade failed to meet nine of the essential standards of quality and safety.

The commission had concerns over care planning, safeguarding, records, nutrition and staffing arrangements.

The nursing home has been given 14 days to provide a plan of action to address the concerns, with the watchdog intending to follow up the review to ensure necessary improvements are made.
