US-based healthcare organisation Sanford Health plans to build a new $60m medical centre and clinic in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
The hospital will centralise a number of services under one roof, along with other medical services that are spread out in different buildings around town.
Sanford Health currently runs the 25-bed Thief River Falls medical centre, which provides services including hospital care, physical and occupational therapy, health education and emergency medicine.
Construction of the new hospital is scheduled for the spring of 2012, with completion planned for the fall of 2014.
The project also includes remodelling of the existing clinic on US Highway 59 and co-locating behavioural health inpatient and outpatient services.
