The recipient of the world's first full face transplant has been discharged from hospital.
The 31-year-old man, identified only as Oscar, received the transplant in a 24-hour operation at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, Spain.
Oscar was involved in a shooting accident that left him needing a total replacement of facial skin, muscles, nose and lips.

Metal plates have been used to support the new facial structure.
Doctors believe the patient can regain up to 90% of his facial functions.
