Deep brain stimulation could help patients with obsessive compulsive disorder, according to research conducted at Amsterdam University's Academic Medical Center.
Sixteen patients with extreme forms of OCD were given deep brain stimulation during a study, resulting in a dramatic reduction in symptoms .
Although average symptom reduction was 50%, some patients achieved reductions of 80-90%.
