Acumentra Health has renewed its contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to serve as Oregon’s Medicare quality improvement organisation.

Under the three-year contract, which runs to July 2014, Acumentra Health will work with Oregon healthcare providers to promote patient-centred care and improve the health of the population.

The healthcare provider will work to reduce hospital-acquired infections, adverse drug events and pressure ulcers, and will help hospitals report on clinical measures that Medicare will consider in value-based purchasing.

Acumentra will also help improve the cardiac health of the population and preventive care measures, such as immunisations and screening, and will support physicians to report quality measures through EHR systems, the company said in a statement.
