Private health unit Candover Clinic has installed two Siemens Healthcare imaging systems, in a bid to improve diagnostic treatment.

Located on the campus of Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital in the UK, the clinic has installed the Magnetom Aera MR and Somatom Definition AS CT systems, which are designed to optimise patient comfort and radiographer efficiency.

Candover Clinic superintendent radiographer Desiree Naidoo said: "Patient experience is of utmost importance to us and the recently installed Siemens systems help our patients feel comfortable and relaxed, particularly those with claustrophobia.

"The ease-of-use and short scan times are also having a big impact on patient throughput, which allows the clinic to work as efficiently as possible while giving a rapid and effective service to our patients."

The Magnetom Aera has been installed to provide better image quality and enhance cardiac imaging features. Candover is also supporting this work with the Cardiac Dot Engine application, which provides automated planning of all cardiac views with AutoAlign Heart.
