Southwest Community Health Center (SWCHC) in the US will deploy NextGen Healthcare Information Systems solutions across its 12 locations in southwest Connecticut to improve operational efficiency.

As part of the contract, NextGen will supply NextGen Ambulatory EHR, NextGen Practice Management and NextGen Electronic Dental Record (EDR) solutions to the hospital.

The solutions will provide SWCHC with integrated reporting utilities to support a wide range of documentation required to meet federal and state regulations and funding obligations.

NextGen Practice Management will help the hospital to increase revenue, eliminate document storage fees and improve operational efficiencies.

NextGen Ambulatory EHR and NextGen EDR will integrate SWCHC's clinical, scheduling, pharmacy and dental services to create a comprehensive medical management platform.

"NextGen will supply NextGen Ambulatory EHR, NextGen Practice Management and NextGen Electronic Dental Record (EDR) solutions to the hospital."

SWCHC president and chief executive officer Katherine Yacavone said the latest changes to the state Medicaid program require the hospital to transform its healthcare delivery by adopting quality care models such as Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH).

"We're adapting to these new models by incorporating NextGen Healthcare's product suite into our platform to provide seamless integration of all medical components of care onto a single system developed specifically to meet our community health centre needs," Yacavone added.

"Our partnership with NextGen provides us with all the tools we need to meet Meaningful Use requirements and achieve NCQA [National Committee for Quality Assurance] accreditation."
