Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) has opened new surgical facility at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, Illinois.

The facility will provide surgical therapy procedures for patients who are suffering from cancer.

The 25,000ft2 surgical suite consists of four operating rooms, five post-anaesthesia care units and eight private same-day admission rooms.

Operating rooms are well equipped, and all pre and post-operative areas provide privacy and space for families, hospital officials said.

Post-anaesthesia care units facilitate one isolation bay and the surgical suite is also equipped with touchpad lighting and laparoscopic systems.

CTCA Midwestern CEO Anne Meisner said surgical oncology at CTCA at Midwestern brings compassion and innovation together in breakthrough procedures like intraoperative radiation therapy and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy.
