The Dubai Health Authority's (DHA) Hospital Services Sector has implemented Aman, an online patient safety and risk management system, across its hospitals and speciality centres.
Based on Datix software, the healthcare risk management solution is expected to minimise risks and enhance patient safety.
Dubai Health Authority deputy director-general Khalid Al Sheikh Mubarak said the deployment of the patient safety software will ensure unification of processes and reporting systems.
"For us, at the DHA, it is very important to constantly enhance our healthcare services and this system is a vital tool to achieve this," Mubarak added.
DHA has entered into a strategic partnership with Datix's local partner in the Middle-East, Health Matrix, to implement the system.
Hospital Services Sector CEO Dr Mohammad Al Olama said the system will provide DHA's healthcare entities with a unified reporting system and will ensure real-time follow up on safety events and hazards.
"This further promotes and enhances a culture of safety, which is very important to ensure high level of quality healthcare for the population of Dubai and visitors," Olama added.
The solution has gone live in all the DHA hospitals, Dubai, Rashid, Latifa and Hatta, as well as in four speciality centres: the Thalassemia Centre, Dubai Diabetes Centre, Dubai Gynaecology and Fertility Centre, and the Airport Medical Centre.
The system is currently operational across 20,000 hospitals and health centres across the globe.
