The UK-based Hinduja Group will spend Rs25bn ($47.82bn) to establish a chain of boutique corporate hospitals across India over the next two years.

The group has so far set up one boutique hospital, the Hinduja Healthcare Surgical, in the city of Mumbai but is planning to construct up to six more around the country, reports the Economic Times of India.

Hinduja Group India chairman Ashok Hinduja said: "After serving Mumbai through our PD Hinduja National Hospital for 60 years, we have started with our first Hinduja Healthcare Surgical: a boutique corporate healthcare hospital with 106 beds in Mumbai suburb of Khar.

"For the group, Hinduja Healthcare is a significant diversification into the high-potential services sector of corporate hospitals."
