Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in California, US, has opened an advanced cardiac operating suite.

The Bob and Marjie Bennett Hybrid Surgical Suite features a Siemens’ Artis Zeego robotic imaging system with 3D and 4D reconstruction software.

The custom robotic solution is used to image blood vessels, tissue and organs during cardiac surgery, as well as angioplasty and endovascular procedures.

Artis Zeego features a multi-axis C-arm that allows for unrestricted positioning, which results in advanced cross-sectional imaging.

Hoag president and CEO Richard Afable said that the new form of treatment will improve options for patients who need heart valve replacement but are less than ideal candidates for surgery.

"The latest imaging and advanced technology in the hybrid CVOR allows physicians to provide care that is less invasive, safer and potentially with less discomfort," Afable said.
