Cape Cod Healthcare in the US state of Massachusetts has selected Courion access risk management solutions to automate identity and access management (IAM) processes as part of its long-term plans to manage access to sensitive data and applications.
The healthcare system will use the Courion suite to provide new identities for patients, staff and contractors, certify user access, and for self-service password management.
Cape Cod Healthcare user services director Rich Bianco said, "Courion demonstrated a good grasp of the challenges we are up against. As we evaluated their products, it was clear they were designed to deliver rapid results, exactly what we needed to move our technology migration ahead."
"They have a proven track record with healthcare customers that gave us a great deal of confidence. They presented an implementation methodology that will get us up and running quickly," he added.
The implementation of the Courion suite is an important step in Cape Cod Healthcare's planned conversion to Siemens healthcare information software, which is scheduled to go live in October 2012 and requires each system user to have a distinctive user ID, the company said.
Courion professional services director Chad Wolcott said, "By leveraging our best practices implementation methodology, we're able to rapidly address their requirements for security, compliance and access risk management while supporting the overall objectives for their critical technology migration project."
