The UK NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement has selected SkyDox's file sharing and collaboration platform.

The file sharing platform allows the institute to optimise inter-and-intra organisational file sharing and collaboration, while SkyDox's free guest user policy is designed to lower overall costs.

NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement chief information and knowledge officer Nick Gaunt said that very little training was required for the platform.

"SkyDox provides all the functionality we need in a single platform, integrates with our existing applications and has a full-featured free guest user policy, it's helped our IT department manage collaboration costs," Gaunt added.

With the SkyDox technology, the NHS Institute will be able to eliminate email inefficiencies and ensure access to updated versions of documents for all the team members.

The technology offers security features, compatibility with enterprise content management and productivity applications; in addition to social business tools, such as activity feeds, presence indicators, email alerts and IM-style messaging.

SkyDox CMO Ali Moinuddin said: "The NHS is a big coup for SkyDox; it is one of the largest employers in the world, making its collaboration challenges some of the most significant of any organisation, public or private."
