Sterling Group of Hospitals has partnered with India Home Health Care (IHCC) and US-based Bayada to introduce home health services under the brand Asilia Home Healthcare.

Sterling will hold a 70% stake in the new joint venture (JV), while IHHC and Bayada will hold the remaining stake.

Sterling Group of Hospitals promoter Girish Patel was quoted by the Business Standard as saying that this is a segment where the demand is more than the supply, as it is about creating awareness and providing quality healthcare services.

"The cost of rehabilitating or treating a patient at home is about 10% to 20% of the cost of keeping a patient in any hospital."

Asilia will provide services to patients with cancer, those who have been released from the hospital after surgery, children with special needs, as well as offering palliative care and services for the aged.

Initially, the services will be launched in Ahmedabad of Gujarat and will later spread to Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
