GE Healthcare, a division of General Electric Company, and TomTec Imaging Systems, a worldwide leader in 2D/3D/4D imaging and quantification technologies, have entered into a formal strategic cooperation contract to boost their excellence in echocardiography.

This new cooperation is designed to ensure a seamless integration of TomTec’s CardioArena™ program for analysis of 2D/3D/4D data into GE Healthcare’s cardiology IT solutions portfolio, Centricity Cardiology. This will result in a solution dedicated to streamlining cardiologists’ workflows, increasing the department’s efficiency and shortening waiting times for patients.

Information systems in cardiology and echocardiography are playing a key role in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases that are a paramount cause of death worldwide. “By combining forces, TomTec and GE Healthcare will deliver the tools cardiologists need to meet the challenges of ever increasing patient data and images. As a result, patients suffering from heart disease can expect a personalized and profound diagnosis,” said Juergen Reyinger, vice president and general manager of GE Healthcare IT for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

TomTec integrates its clinical application packages (CAPs) for the routine workflow, as well as advanced 3D/4D applications. TomTec’s CAPs are available for the visualization and quantification of the LV, RV and MV, vascular measurement and arterial health, and comprehensive 2D image review and measurements.
