Wipak is pleasesd to announce that its Medical Division together with its North American business partner Healthmark Industries acquired Kimberly-Clark’s worldwide peel pouch and tubing business on November 30, 2007.

Kimberly-Clark is a leading global health and hygiene company headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with operations in 37 countries; Kimberly-Clark’s global brands are sold in more than 150 countries. Their well-known family and personal care brands include Kleenex, Scott, Andrex, Huggies, Pull-Ups, Kotex, Poise and Depend.

Michigan-based company Healthmark is an established supplier of products for the central sterilization industry, including sterilization packaging and accessories. They have been Wipak’s appointed Steriking® distributor in the USA since 1996.

Each company has expressed its belief that this change will be of the highest benefit to their mutual sterile processing customers. The acquisition allows Wipak and Healthmark to establish a broader line of sterilization packaging in the North American market while allowing Kimberly-Clark to focus on innovation in the rest of its line of clinically preferred medical devices and supplies.

Steriking sterile barrier products are developed and designed to ensure optimal reliability of use in hospitals and other health care institutions. The type of packages used is of great importance for rational and efficient sterile supply services. A well designed and correctly used sterilization pack provides for effective sterilization and safe handling of all items until the moment they are used. A pack must remain sealed against bacteria and facilitate aseptic presentation of the packaged product. Sterility is an absolute condition. There is no room for compromise!
