North America witnessed a 0.7% rise in IT hiring activity in the healthcare industry in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
June 2021 has seen an increase of 3.02% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.52% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering an increase of 0.1% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 56.73% in June 2021, a 2.33% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 12.83% in June 2021, marking a 12.76% month-on-month an increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 12.61% in June 2021, a 1.24% drop from May 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 9.21% in June 2021, a 9.31% rise over the previous month.
Top five healthcare companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 3.35% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s healthcare industry during June 2021 over previous month.
International Business Machines posted 1,454 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 4.45% over the previous month, followed by AT&T with 678 jobs and a 29.81% drop. Accenture with 519 IT jobs and Oracle with 431 jobs, recorded a 57.75% growth and a 17.9% drop, respectively, while UnitedHealth Group recorded a 3.22% an increase with 353 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s healthcare industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s healthcare industry IT hiring activity with a 91.66% share in June 2021, a 0.76% decline over May 2021. Canada featured next with a 7.35% share, up 4.2% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.99% share, a drop of 4.12% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.25%, down by 17.16% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 30.77% share, a growth of 30.46% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.32% share, up 62.06% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.67%, recording a month-on-month decline of 14.86%.
