Notably, Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations jobs accounted for a 22% share of the global healthcare industry’s social responsibility-related total new job postings in Q2 2023, down 19% over the prior quarter.

Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations drive social responsibility-related hiring activity

Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations, with a share of 22%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the healthcare industry in Q2 2023, with new job postings drop by 19% quarter-on-quarter. Management Occupations came in second with a share of 10% in Q2 2023, with new job postings dropping by 14% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent social responsibility roles include Healthcare Support Occupations with a 9% share in Q2 2023, Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in healthcare industry accounted for 17% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q2 2023 were Edward D Jones & Co, Houston Methodist Hospital, UnitedHealth Group, Octapharma Plasma, and Conduent. Together they accounted for a combined share of 17% of all social responsibility-related new jobs in the healthcare industry.

Edward D Jones & Co posted 3,778 social responsibility-related new jobs in Q2 2023, Houston Methodist Hospital 3,156 jobs, UnitedHealth Group 2,109 jobs, Octapharma Plasma 1,563 jobs, and Conduent 1,143 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with an 80.71% share of total new job postings, Q2 2023

The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the healthcare industry in Q2 2023 was in the US with 80.71% followed by the UK (5.45%) and Canada (3.82%). The share represented by the US was one percentage point lower than the 81.53% share it accounted for in Q1 2023.
