The US healthcare industry registered a 2.1% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.27% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.
Out of the healthcare industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.39% share in July 2021, recording an increase of 0.14% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US healthcare industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.25% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US healthcare industry in July 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 56.53% in July 2021, a 14.33% drop over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 13.12% share, decline of 1.84% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.11%, registering a 14.2% decline from June 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.85%, down 11.87% over the previous month.
Top five healthcare companies in the US IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 10.52% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US healthcare industry during July 2021 over June 2021.
Cognizant Technology Solutions posted 1,006 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a rise of 2415% over the previous month, followed by International Business Machines with 642 jobs and a 59.75% drop. AT&T with 526 IT jobs and Accenture with 327 jobs, recorded a 22.07% drop and a 27.01% decline, respectively, while UnitedHealth Group recorded a 19.51% decline with 297 job postings during July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.46%, down by 9.12% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 28.67% share, a decline of 20.22% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.86% share, down 3.98% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.01%, recording a month-on-month increase of 28.13%.
