California Northstate University (CNU) has announced its plans to construct a 250-bed teaching hospital next to its campus in Elk Grove.

The plan for the hospital has been submitted to the City of Elk Grove for approval in order to commence construction in 2019.

This project is expected to be completed by 2022.

It is being designed by Fong & Chan Architects of San Francisco.

This medical centre will offer access to Level II trauma care, acute and medical care, and physician training.

It will also boost public safety and emergency response times.
