Canada’s Interior Health has announced the opening of the expanded and enhanced emergency department (ED) first phase at Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH) in British Columbia.

Canada Health Minister Adrian Dix said: “Our government is committed to upgrading hospitals around the province, including Penticton, and I have been a strong supporter of this project from the start.

The David E Kampe Tower Project included the six-storey hospital tower and related parkade that debuted in April last year.

The project incurred a cost of C$312.5m, which was shared between the provincial government, the Okanagan-Similkameen Regional Hospital District, Interior Health and the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation.
