Kindred Healthcare has announced a joint venture with Community Health Network to construct and operate a third inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, US.

The new 40-bed, 50,000ft2, two-storey hospital will feature all private rooms. It  will deliver acute rehabilitation for patients with various disorders, including stroke, traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury.

According to the companies, the new facility will have advanced therapeutic technologies, including augmented reality balance training, therapy bionics and a full body exoskeleton.

Kindred Rehabilitation Hospitals chief operating officer Russ Bailey said: “We are excited to build on our relationship with Community Health – one of the nation’s leading health care providers – to offer the Indianapolis community increased access to high-quality inpatient rehabilitation services.

“As with our two existing hospitals that we operate with Community, this new hospital will be dedicated to passionately advocating for and providing hope, healing and recovery to patients in its care.”

In Indianapolis, the partners opened Community Rehabilitation Hospital North in June 2013 and Community Rehabilitation Hospital South in August 2018.
