The Government of South Australia (SA) has partnered with Nexus Hospitals to build a new facility and provide surgical and procedural services at the Repat Health Precinct.
Under the new partnership, SA has agreed to lease a portion of land within the Repat Health Precinct for a period of 50 years for construction of the new surgical facility and car park.

Nexus Hospitals CEO Andrew Petering said: “Working together, we have developed an agreed concept and site plan which will see us construct a $68.2m (A$95m) Surgical Facility and new multi-deck car park at the Repat.
“Nexus looks forward to progressing planning for the new facility and working closely with SA Health to deliver the best possible outcomes for patients and the South Australian community.”
Once completed, the new surgical facility will feature up to six theatres, 30 bed overnight capacity, a 20-chair renal dialysis unit, a GP clinic, a community pharmacy and space for specialist medical and other allied health services.
It is also is expected to significantly reduce waiting lists across the health system and ensure that SA meets its demand for health care in the future.

By GlobalDataSA Health will execute the demolition works at the site and the preparatory works are expected to be completed by April next year.
Construction works at the site will begin in the second half of next year.
Additionally, the government has agreed to invest more than $296m (A$413m) over the next ten years, which will help Nexus deliver services from the new facility.
South Australia Premier Steven Marshall said: “Since Peter Malinauskas closed the Repat as Health Minister under the former Labor Government, we scrapped the sale of the site and are investing $115m to revitalise the precinct as a vital part of South Australia’s future health system.
“Our investment at the Repat forms part of a record $7.4bn investment in our state’s health system to help fix ramping, ease pressure on hospital emergency departments and deliver quality health care for South Australians, closer to home.”
