UAE-based healthcare facility RAK Hospital has launched a free online Covid-19 rehabilitation programme for Covid patients from across the globe.

The hospital launched the programme in partnership with ARISE UAE, a UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR)-led network of private sector entities.

It is said to be the first of its kind in the Middle East and will be led by RAK Hospital’s wellness division Arabian Wellness & Lifestyle Management.

Under the rehabilitation programme, Covid patients will receive personalised health prescription as per their conditions.

RAK Hospital noted that about 30% of Covid patients, who have recovered, continue to experience lingering symptoms, such as difficulty in breathing, chest pain, body ache, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, fatigue and more.

The aftereffects of the disease have also been observed in some asymptomatic patients.
