China’s Renji Hospital, in partnership with VeChain and DNV GL, has announced the launch of the world’s first blockchain-enabled Intelligent Tumor Treatment Center powered by VeChain ToolChain.

The center serves as a transparent, efficient, and traceable medical management solution.

Combining the VeChain blockchain technology with DNV GL’s professional services, the facility plans to cover the full lifecycle management of the tumour treatment process in the hospital thereby improving the efficiency.

Renji Hospital vice-president Zhang Jidong said: “The strategic partnership and launch of the Intelligent Tumor Treatment Centre intends to enhance high-quality integrated development of Renji Hospital.

“Moving forward, Renji Hospital intends to boost our healthcare facilities with more blockchain-powered use cases and projects, which will be gradually disclosed together with our partners when the time is right.”

VeChain’s technology assists in full patient ownership of personal medical records and will let them control the authorisation and manage medical records.
