US-based Phoenix Children's has entered a partnership with HonorHealth to expand its physician-led neonatology services, bringing care closer to families.
Under the new collaboration, Phoenix Children's Neonatology division will offer care to the Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center and the Level II nurseries at HonorHealth Mountain Vista and HonorHealth Sonoran Crossing medical centres.
Newborns receiving care in the HonorHealth facilities will benefit from the paediatric expertise and resources of Phoenix Children's, including access to consultations with over 75 paediatric subspecialties.
Additionally, Phoenix Children's Center for Fetal and Neonatal Care offers support services before and after delivery, which is crucial for managing high-risk pregnancies and deliveries.
Phoenix Children’s neonatology division chief Gregg Martin said: "This collaboration with the stellar labour and delivery and neonatology teams at HonorHealth allows us to bring the expert paediatric care families rely on from Phoenix Children’s to more patient families than ever before.”
The collaboration increases the number of hospitals staffed by Phoenix Children’s neonatologists to seven locations.
Phoenix Children's neonatologists will primarily serve a designated HonorHealth location but will also rotate through the Level IV NICU at the Thomas Campus to maintain their clinical expertise.
HonorHealth NICU and paediatrics senior clinical director Mary Luster said: “Our alliance underscores a shared commitment to providing the highest level of neonatal care and exceptional service to our tiniest patients and their families while they’re with us at HonorHealth and into the future.”
In August 2024, Phoenix Children’s Hospital expanded its services with the opening of a new Arrowhead Campus in Glendale, Arizona, US.
This development further improved access to paediatric healthcare for families.
