The University of Minnesota, US, has opened its new $275m Amplatz Children’s Hospital.
The 96-bed hospital has been designed with families in mind and has been tailored so environments are less stressful for patients and their relatives.
The layout of the hospital is also designed to guard the patients from noise.
Each room features a pullout couch, table and chairs, refrigerator, and a private bathroom. Beds in the intensive care unit have been placed in the centre of the room, allowing the medical staff 360° access to the patient.
The hospital will open to the public on 30 April 2011, according to worldinteriordesignnetwork.com.
