American Medical Systems has reported positive results from a six-month, prospective and multi-centre study of the Elevate Anterior and Apical Prolapse Repair System.
The study was conducted with 142 women across 16 centres located in the US and Europe. The pelvic organ prolapse quantification exam was used to quantify, describe and stage pelvic support.
The results revealed that the efficacy rates of stage one or less were 86.3% for anterior prolapses and 98.8% for apical prolapses.
Additionally, when asked about quality-of-life benefits after undergoing the procedure, 94.7% of patients reported feeling some or a lot of improvement.
Elevate is a minimally invasive, comprehensive system to treat anterior and apical defects. It offers a precise apical mesh placement in the sacrospinous ligament through a single vaginal incision.
