Emory Healthcare and Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Georgia, US, have entered a formal partnership, forming the largest health system in the state.
The partnership aims to enhance and improve the coordination of care for patients.
The health system has major hospital campuses in DeKalb County, Johns Creek, Midtown Atlanta and Sandy Springs.
Emory Healthcare President and CEO John Fox said Emory Healthcare and Saint Joseph’s Hospital share compatible values and the common purpose to provide outstanding healthcare.
“Combining the excellence of our physicians, skill and experience of our clinical staffs, and promise of our research capabilities only strengthens what we offer patients,” Fox said.
The joint operating company is based on a partnership business model, with Emory Healthcare holding a majority ownership of 51% of Saint Joseph’s.
