The Ethiopian Ministry of Health has announced that it will build around 600 hospitals in the next five years in an effort to improve the access to healthcare and to meet the health sector’s Millennium Development Goals.
The construction of 30 hospitals is underway in Amhara state, and work has also begun in Oromia state.
The construction of 14,300 health posts has also been finalised, and the construction of rest is expected to be completed by the end of this Ethiopian budget year.
