Neuros Medical has reported positive results from a study evaluating its high-frequency electrical nerve-block technology in patients with chronic amputation pain.

In the study, four out of five patients reported that their pain was reduced to zero.

The technology uses high-frequency alternating current stimulation to block chronic pain signals in the peripheral nervous system.

The technology is designed to eliminate chronic pain in a variety of applications, including amputation pain, chronic post-surgical pain, chronic migraine and trigeminal neuralgia.

Dr Amol Soin, who led the study, said the high-frequency electrical nerve-block technology showed the ability to completely reduce pain, safely and consistently.

“The strong potential it holds for patients suffering from chronic pain is very encouraging,” he said.
