Pico-Tesla has reported that the therapy delivered by its Resonator system improved pain and sleep symptoms in patients with fibromyalgia in a pilot study.
The randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study enrolled 13 patients with fibromyalgia.
It was designed to determine whether the application of magnetic fields generated by the system can be effective as an adjunctive therapy to oral medications in ameliorating the symptoms of fibromyalgia.
Pico-Tesla’s magneceutical therapy involves the use of an extremely low-level electromagnetic field.
It is intended to treat signs and symptoms of fibromyalgia and other disorders and diseases such as atrial fibrillation, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and osteoarthritis.
Fibromyalgia is a common and complex chronic pain disorder characterised by chronic widespread pain, multiple tender points, abnormal pain processing, sleep disturbances, fatigue and psychological distress.
