Boston Scientific has announced the first launch of its Blazer open-irrigated catheter at the Cardiologique du Haut–Leveque Hospital in Bordeaux–Pessac, France.

The catheter is attached to the Total Tip Cooling design, which cools the electrode during radiofrequency energy delivery.

The cooling profile, coupled with the high-performance Blazer platform, makes the catheter an additional option for performing complex ablations.

Cardiac ablation with a radiofrequency ablation catheter is increasingly becoming an option for patients who cannot tolerate the necessary medication.
