University of Colorado Hospital in the US will begin the expansion of its Anschutz Medical Campus at the end of this month, it has been announced.

The $400m expansion will consist of a second inpatient 12-story tower containing 276 beds, a radiation therapy vault and a 662-space car park.

University of Colorado Hospital president and CEO Bruce Schroffel said that the expansion would also allow it to “contribute to the community as it brings a significant amount of jobs to Colorado”.

The University will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on 24 May.
